Umoe Maritime Trainee
Umoe Maritime is a joint trainee program between the associated companies Umoe Schat-Harding and Umoe Mandal. The first participants in the program started work in 2011. The trainee program, running over 24 months, consists of 8 months training at each company’s main office and in addition 8 months spent abroad or working with development of a business product. The trainee program is a unique chance to experience two different versatile companies, producing advanced composite products for different market sector.
An experienced mentor will be appointed for the trainees, and for each 8 months period there will be an additional local sponsor. Technical and social gatherings will be arranged once every 6 months during the trainee period. Four persons will be admitted into the program in 2012.
Umoe Schat-Harding
Umoe Schat-Harding (USH) is the global market leader in marine life-saving systems. USH designs, develop, deliver and provide lifetime support for a wide range of innovative lifeboats, davits, winches and rescue boats. High skilled persons are needed at USH to satisfy strict requirements from customers and a variety of standards and rules. Examples of relevant tasks at USH are design and analysis of free-fall and conventional lifeboats, including CFD and FEM methods, project management, risk analysis, work on sites and USH offices worldwide etc.
Umoe Mandal
Umoe Mandal is a leading provider of lightweight composite ships and structures, serving the worlds’ most demanding defense and commercial markets. The yard is world leading in air cushion and Surface Effect Ships, and has extensive experience in design and construction of light weight composite solutions for the naval industry and the offshore oil and gas industry.
Our engineers participate in the entire value chain, from conceptual design, detailed design and production, to test and maintenance. We offer a wide variety of challenging tasks in a multidisciplinary environment of development and innovation.
Qualifications
Master of Science or equivalent degree Marine technology or related technical education (e.g. structure, material, machinery, electronics), finance, logistics, marketing/sales, business development and similar.
Workplace
Rosendal or Mandal, Norway.
